In this tutorial I'll show you how to create a background in Photoshop and drop it into PowerPoint.
Let's start with a blank template in PowerPoint.
Under the Design tab you will see Page Setup. Click on it.
Change the size to Letter Paper and number of slides to 3. We also want portrait. Please notice the width and height so that you can use those dimensions in Photoshop.
When creating a new document in Photoshop, change the pixels to inches and then change the dimension sizes.
Select the Gradient Tool and choose the gradient drop down box to create a new gradient.
Click and drag to create the new gradient in the document.
Select the ZigZag filter and apply it to the gradient.
Now select the Patchwork filter and copy the settings below.
Select Fade and choose Lighten. Save the background out as a JPEG.
In PowerPoint go to the Insert tab and choose Picture and find the background file you just made. Then under Format>Picture Shape choose a rectangle shape. We have successfully created a customized PowerPoint background.
