To make UOmniFlect work you must begin with three things: 1) the deflector;
2) a particle system;
and the 3) UOmniFlect space warp.
In this particular picture all of the items are selected so that you can see them easier.
Next select the Bind to Space Warp button.
Bind the UOmniFlect space warp to the particle system.
On the Modify Panel select Pick Object. Click on the object that will act as the deflector.
Click on the timeline. Click Set Key. Run the animation. Make adjustments to the particle system and the UOmniFlect as is necessary. Make sure to unclick the Set Key and also that you are at frame 1. Notice how the particles that hit the deflector are sent backwards.
