Amazing Card Dance - After Effects Tutorial

Jacquelin Vanderwood

November, 2006

In this tutorial you'll learn how the effect, Card Dance, works and how to make a great animation.

So let's get started by importing two graphics, a front and a back.

Select the front layer and apply Card Dance.

Set the rows and columns to 3. Change the Back Layer to back.

Go to the fifth frame and hit the N key to shorten the animation.

Go down to the Rotation sets. Set a  key frame for position 1 and then go to frame 4 and change Offset for all rotations to 360.

Now we'll set keyframes for Scale.

For the Scale Offset find a slightly off middle area to set keyframes then move to the center and set more keyframes by putting in .2 in Offset for X and Y Scale. Copy the first two frames to the last position.

The animation will look like the one below.
