Publish to PDF - Corel CorelDraw Tutorial

Vikki Olds

1 Creating PDF files from your layouts in CorelDraw couldn't be easier. Just a couple of clicks after your document is complete and you have a full fledged PDF file ready for distribution.

The first thing you need to do is create your document. If you read my tutorial for creating web pages with CorelDraw you'll recognize the layout and content below. My document is complete and ready for transformation.

2 Before you publish to PDF there are a couple of things you can do to optimize and embellish your PDF file.

You can optimize your images before creating the PDF file to keep the file size down and you can embed fonts in your PDF file so that the end user does not have to have that font on their system in order to be able to see it. (Embedding fonts will increase the size of your PDF file). You can do all this from the Publish to PDF option under the File menu.

To compress images, go to File>Publish to PDF and click the objects tab. Choose JPEG from the compression list box and type a number from 2 to 255 in the Quality box.

To embed fonts, go to File>Publish to PDF and click the objects tab. Enable the Embed Fonts in Document check box and you're all set.

Click the general tab, browse to where you want to save the file, type in a file name and click Save.

3 Below is a representation of my PDF file as shown in Acrobat Reader. Click on the image below to open the PDF file in a new browser window.

Click the image to open the PDF created in a new window.

4 There really isn't an easier way that I can think of to create web pages and PDF files for web or disk distribution. Try it out, it's simple and quick!
